Kiss your sweet civil liberties goodbye, one by one.
Frankly, this is B.S. We cannot allow the president to get away with such blatant attacks on the constitutional rights our ancestors fought for. These un-warranted taps are a direct violation of our fourth amendment rights, the fourth amendment reads like this:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and
effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and
no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or
affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the
persons or things to be seizedThis clearly prohibits the government from tapping your communication devices without probable cause or a warrant. Now if it's so blatant that we need to tap their phones, a warrant should not be hard to obtain, no one is out there trying to obstruct the law enforcement community from catching terrorists, but this must be done within the law, and unwarranted, unreasonable tapping of telephones is clearly outside constitutional law.
What is truly disturbing is that the president, after being called on this, admitted it, and admitted that he would continue to do it indefinitely. This is wrong, he should not be allowed to stand there and tell us that our freedoms will remain intact, while taking them away behind our backs.
