The right wing scumbag hath returned!
As I sit here, the school has lowered the graduation requirements for social studies classes, while raising the math and science requirements. Now most people see this as a step forward, as do I, but they don't see the two steps back we're taking. As I thought about it more and more, and after reading a book review about a book called "Why Read?" It became increasingly obvious that there was only one reason to raise the math and science requirements, the world needs more engineers and architects! That is the entire purpose of us going to school, to make more of what the world needs, if the world needs more stockbrokers, you can bet that the economics requirements go up. What ever happened to "you can be whatever you want to be!"? apparently they don't care so much about what YOU want to be, as much as they care about what they need. And what would be their gain in teaching us to be whatever we want to be? The economy needs it! That is the only reason, to make more eco-fodder. And if they cut back the social studies requirements, the politicians get exactly what they want: an uninformed, easily impressionable public, each with a vote. And that's how I shall leave you.
